Farr Solarium

2012   /   Mixed media installation, tar paper, grass, muslin, light   /   30 L x 22.5 W x 10.5 H ft  (9 x 7 x 3.5 m)   /   Installation view from Dugan Gallery, University of Massachusetts Lowell, MA

This installation is a research in interstitial moments and the transitions between spaces. With the construction of a viewing platform, a diffused light capsule, an elevated grass bed, each structure has a discrete view of the others. This project explores the transitions between private and exposed spaces, solitary and shared moments, and divisions of space within the same body of architecture. “Farr Solarium” plays with different atmospheric conditions and how we experience moving through these boundaries.
