2018 / Graphed paper, sunlight, magnifying glass, stamp, clip / 11 L x 7 W x 1/2 D in (28 x 18 x 1 cm)
Rabbit Island, Lake Superior, Michigan
This project is an archival evidence of the increasingly rare sunny days in the autumn month living isolated on Rabbit Island. The Sun’s energy was harvested and directed through a magnifying glass to burn a sheet of graph paper each day. The documented layers become a topographic map and grow into an island of their own.
