Moving to the U.S. at an early age, the transition demanded my intensive observation and awareness, in order to comprehend the new foreign habitat. Consequently, my practice focused on our relationships to the minutia around us, in connection to the much larger environment, while searching for our place within that spectrum. With this desire for attentiveness, my practice dissects the surrounding location, accumulates found materials that are discarded and often overlooked, then applies observational processes to form site-responsive works. This practice grows into a ‘nesting’ process, which embodies an obsessive impulse to investigate the construct of 'home' and pursue an understanding of our inherent symbiotic relationships with the local ecology.
